CUNA Continues Outreach to Congressional Offices Post-GAC
Credit unions stand ready to work with Congressional offices to create a national data security and privacy standard, tailor regulations on credit unions, maintain the tax status and more, CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan wrote to all Congressional offices Thursday. Donovan’s message came days after more than 5,200 credit union advocates visited Congressional offices as part of this year’s CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC).

“Credit unions spent the last few days bringing our 2019 advocacy agenda to policymakers and demonstrating how it will help us continue our outstanding service to members,” Donovan said. “And this latest communication reminds them that we’re here in Washington and in every Congressional district every day ready to get to work to help our members succeed.”

Several legislators who spoke at CUNA GAC addressed their priorities for the upcoming year and how they aligned with credit unions, including on the need for data security and privacy legislation, regulatory relief and more.

CUNA previously sent communications to all Congressional offices prior to GAC.
