NCUA to Host Pandemic Response Webinar
The NCUA next month is hosting a webinar to share more information about the agency's response to the coronavirus pandemic and its efforts to support credit unions working to serve their members. Registration for the webinar, set to begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Dec. 3, is now open online.

NCUA staff is also expected to discuss recently issued guidance and regulations, as well as other agency initiatives.

NCUA Chairman Hood last week appeared before the House Financial Services and Senate Banking Committees and gave an update on the agency's response to the pandemic, highlighting that the agency is focused on the effects of loan payment forbearance, loan delinquencies, and modifications on credit union liquidity.

NAFCU recently outlined six main priorities that would provide credit unions with relief in a letter to the NCUA Board and has worked closely with the agency to share credit unions' concerns.

In addition, NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger recently met with Hood to discuss a number of issues. Access NAFCU's coronavirus-related resources here.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions ahead of the event by emailing WebinarQuestions@ncua.gov with the subject line "NCUA COVID-19 Update."

Of note, registration is limited to no more than 2,500 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
