Iowa Credit Unions meet with Congressional delegation in D.C. |
|
Fresh off the reelection of the state’s entire Congressional delegation, the Iowa Credit Union League and Iowa credit union leaders met with their federal lawmakers in Washington, D.C., as they returned for the first week of the lame duck session.
Iowa credit union advocates discussed everything from decreasing regulatory burdens on credit unions to interchange and the importance of transparency at the Treasury’s Community Development Institutions (CDFI) Fund.
America’s Credit Unions, its PAC, and the Iowa Credit Union League supported strong credit union champions Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, and Rep. Zach Nunn, R-Iowa, among others, with additional outreach this election cycle.
Hinson won re-election with 57% of the vote, and Nunn received 52% of the vote. Nunn introduced his CDFI Fund oversight bill at a Des Moines branch of Veridian Credit Union earlier this year.
