| Simpson: Credit Union movement brings Focus, Unified Voice to D.C. |

Heading into a record-breaking Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) 2026—and his first GAC leading America’s Credit Unions—President/CEO Scott Simpson spoke with CUTimes’ Inside the PRO Studio about the goal of the event and where credit unions stand at this moment.
The credit union movement must be “distilled and focused” when meeting with policymakers during and after GAC, Simpson noted, as there is limited time and attention in a crowded policy environment.
Simpson also addressed the fight against government price controls and costly new interchange mandates, as well as efforts to modernize reporting thresholds and tie them to the economy and work with Congress to combat fraud and scams.
