| Credit Unions putting People First, Making Life more Affordable |
|
With thousands of credit union advocates in the nation’s capital this week for Governmental Affairs Conference 2026, America’s Credit Unions President/CEO Scott Simpson wrote to all Congressional offices Monday, emphasizing credit union priorities.
“Putting people first and making life more affordable is at the heart of everything credit unions do as not-for-profit financial cooperatives. As you work on policy solutions to expand access to financial services and increase affordability for middle-class families, local credit union leaders are ready to meet with you to share real-life stories that illustrate the power of cooperative finance to transform people’s lives,” Simpson wrote. “Credit unions serve more than 145 million members nationwide, and we ask for your help in ensuring credit unions can continue to provide affordable financial services to those who need it in their communities.”
He also shared how these priorities that will help credit unions do even more to help members and communities.
Credit union advocates and league leaders will meet with policymakers throughout the week in conjunction with GAC, sharing how the credit union story transforms people’s lives.
