| This Week: Budget, Funding discussions continue |
|
Congress remains out on recess this week, though continued discussions on funding for the Department of Homeland Security and the Trump Administration’s FY2027 budget request could lead to work on a budget resolution and renewed focus on a reconciliation bill.
America’s Credit Unions is keeping member credit unions, the League System, and industry advocates updated on the possibility of a reconciliation bill and aligned on strategy; the team remains vigilant.
With lawmakers still at home, credit union advocates have an opportunity to meet locally as April’s National Financial Capability Month gets into full swing. Nebraska Credit Union League and member credit unions met with Rep. Adrian Smith, R, last week, following up on their meeting during GAC and sharing key issues and credit union impact on his district and the state.
