| Investing in Staff to deepen connections with Members |
|
Credit unions put their members first every day, but Wisconsin’s Marine Credit Union is taking that a step further by investing in their staff in multiple ways. Last month, the credit union’s certified financial counselors participated its first ever financial counselor conference, as detailed in a recent America’s Credit Unions blog post.
Marine’s Director of Financial Education Josh Lichty took 39 counselors to the conference to not only train staff, but to further reinforce the organization’s philosophy of servant leadership.
"If our counselors can serve our members and our members feel what that's like," Lichty said, "they can become knowledgeable and empowered to do it in their communities. That's the true measure of success for servant leadership."
Investing in Marine Credit Union’s financial counselors has helped show them how to put their background and certifications to work helping members, and the result has been new programs, initiatives, and ways to serve members.
