| Lawmakers detail Framework for Combatting Fraud |
|
The House Financial Services Committee released a report outlining its policy framework for combatting fraud, with many items aligning with America’s Credit Unions advocacy on combatting fraud.
Representatives from America’s Credit Unions Advocacy Team attended a fireside chat with members of the committee to provide feedback as the policy framework was being outlined. The report includes mentions of America's Credit Unions representative Kate McKune's testimony from earlier this year.
With fraud taking center stage as a top concern for credit unions, America’s Credit Unions continues to raise awareness and advocate for positive changes on both the legislative and regulatory fronts.
Over the next month, America’s Credit Unions and the American Association of Credit Union Leagues are supporting a new campaign in partnership with America Saves that’s designed to bring attention to how and why check fraud occurs. The campaign kicks off next week and credit unions are encouraged to participate.
