This week: Credit Union advocates flock to Capitol Hill
This week, advocates representing more than 500 credit unions nationwide are in town for Congressional Caucus 2026 and fall Hill hikes. Both the House and Senate are in session for one final week before the general election, highlighting the critical nature of lawmaker meetings this week.

Throughout the week, credit union advocates will participate in Caucus events and meet with lawmakers to tout the industry’s year-end advocacy priorities. Follow along on America’s Credit Unions’ social media accounts for updates from Caucus.

In the Senate, a procedural vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) is scheduled for Tuesday. America’s Credit Unions’ Advocacy Team will closely monitor the vote and engage lawmakers on necessary revisions to the bill that ensure credit unions can effectively participate in the digital assets marketplace.

In the House, two credit union-backed bills will be on the floor under suspension of the rules: the GUARD Act and the Common Cents Act. The House Financial Services Committee will hear directly from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent tomorrow and hold a markup of various measures—including a CFPB reform package and legislation to reform the CFPB’s civil investigative demand process—on Wednesday.

The final primary elections of 2026 are taking place Tuesday in Delaware. America’s Credit Unions PAC is supporting Rep. Sarah McBride and Sen. Chris Coons. Follow along on the Credit Unions Elections Hub for results after the elections.
